So I started looking and found a 4x20 LCD that used USB so I installed that in the front together with a black vandal switch.

This case is based on three parts, the acrylic U-shape and two steel plates; it's a pretty simple design. In the first version of this project I used an Asus AT3IONT-I Deluxe together with 4GB ram, 40GB Intel SSD and 1TB hard drive.
This was the first time I tried out a mini-ITX motherboard and i've never used any other form factor since then. I installed three white LEDs in the bottom to shine some light on the inside, then I filled the bottom with some sound-silencing mats.

This was the final result of the first version of this case. Back then I was very happy and satisfied with the result, for a while at least. I took some night shots of the case as well.
For the second version there were mostly hardware upgrades, AMD released their APU-series Llano which I fell in love with, I got the best one back then, the A8-3850 and upgraded to 2x4GB ram.

I wanted to do a custom loop already back then but I went for a Antec Kuhler 620 instead, which worked very well. This was also the first time I used a pico-psu, a small power supply that I have used many times since then.
